About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from the estate’s own 5 ha of vineyards, situated at 180 m above sea level with varied exposures and sandy, clay soils. Cover crops are maintained between the rows and ploughed into the soil every three to four years as natural fertiliser. Green harvesting is practised.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness: Sangiovese at the end of September and Montepulciano in the second half of October. After crushing and gentle pressing, the must ferments in steel tanks with frequent pumping over and undergoes skin maceration.
Ageing
The wine matures for 10–12 months in one- to two-year-old French barriques.
Tasting profile
Refined in character.
Serving and pairing
Pairs with roasted or sauced red meat and with most Italian dishes.
