About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow on the fertile hills of Valdobbiadene, in the historic winemaking province of Treviso. The vineyards have a mild microclimate and distinctive soils.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand between 15 and 30 September and gently pressed. Primary fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature with selected yeasts. Secondary fermentation lasts 25–30 days.
Ageing
The wine rests for 1–3 months after secondary fermentation.
Tasting profile
Elegant, with a clean, delicate fruity aroma and a fresh, velvety palate.
Label / history
Within the Tradizionali range, the wine bears the Roman numeral I between the bottle and the label, indicating that it was the first wine created by winemaker Giulio Bortolomiol. It received Certificates of Merit at the Grandi Spumanti competition in 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2008; the Gran Merito award at the IX Vittorio Veneto wine exhibition in 2008; the Quality/Price Oscar in Gambero Rosso’s Guida Bollicine d’Italia in 2012; and a silver medal at the International Wine Challenge in 2012.
