About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow on the hillsides of the Marano di Valpolicella valley.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully sorted, and only the best-quality, high-sugar fruit is selected. They are then dried naturally for 20 days and gently pressed. The must ferments at a controlled temperature and macerates on the skins to extract as much colour and aroma as possible.
Ageing
The wine ages for one year in large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by six months in bottle.
Tasting profile
Deep colour. The aroma is elegant and invitingly complex. The palate is powerful and full-bodied, pleasantly fresh and wonderfully fruity, and it stays that way through a long finish.
Serving and pairing
Elegant and versatile with food. No specific dishes are named.
Label / history
The Caterina Zardini wines are a range of terroir-driven wines named after the wife of the founder of the Campagnola winery.
