About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

Lambrusco di Sorbara grown within the Lambrusco di Sorbara D.O.C. production area.

Grapes

100% Lambrusco di Sorbara, vinified as a single variety.

Vinification

Selected Lambrusco di Sorbara clusters are vinified in purity. Secondary fermentation takes place in bottle according to the Traditional Method. The bottles rest horizontally at a constant 12°C before riddling and disgorgement. Liqueur d’expédition is then added, and the bottles are corked, wired and labelled.

Ageing

The 2024 summary specifies at least 12 months on the lees. The detailed vinification text and current technical sheet specify at least nine months of horizontal bottle maturation at 12°C.

Technical data

Lambrusco di Sorbara Spumante D.O.C., Traditional Method Brut, vintage 2024. Total acidity is 9 g/L, total malic acid 3.5 g/L and pH 2.92, with 5.5 g/L added sugar. Sulfites are below 63 mg/L. The vintage summary and current technical sheet give 12% vol. alcohol, while the detailed page description gives 12.5% vol. Available in 750 ml bottles packed six per case.

Tasting profile

Brilliant ruby red with fine, continuous chains of tiny bubbles characteristic of bottle-fermented sparkling wine. Raspberry and juicy wild strawberry aromas mingle with citrus notes. The palate opens decisively, broadens into rich fruit, and closes cleanly with freshness, savouriness, good persistence and a balanced interplay of acidity and saltiness.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 8–10°C.

Vintage notes

The 2024 summary and technical sheet place harvest in the last week of September; the general harvest section on the product page gives October.
