About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit grows on the sunny hills of Collio. Warm sunshine and sea breezes contribute aromatic character and minerality. The hillside soils consist of Cormons flysch, a mixture of sandstone and marl rich in limestone, potassium and phosphorus.
Vinification
The grapes are usually harvested at the end of September. After destemming, they undergo an extended low-temperature maceration in chilled pneumatic presses to extract antioxidant compounds from the skins. The must then ferments at a controlled temperature.
Ageing
The wine rests on its fine lees for seven months in large oval botti.
Tasting profile
Fresh, structured and mineral, with complex aromas.
Label / history
Cantina Produttori Cormons was founded in 1962 by eleven representatives of winegrowers and wine producers in northeastern Italy. Its members established comprehensive winemaking rules intended to maintain quality independently of changing fashions. The consortium oversees production from vine planting through winemaking, collaborates with research institutes and introduces new methods aimed at improving quality while adhering to environmental standards.
