About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the winery’s vineyards in Friuli.
Vinification
The grapes are generally harvested by hand during the final ten days of September. After destemming, they undergo low-temperature maceration in chilled pneumatic presses to extract antioxidant compounds from the skins. The must then ferments at a controlled temperature.
Ageing
The wine rests for a further seven months in large oval oak casks.
Tasting profile
Well-balanced.
Serving and pairing
In autumn and winter, a serving temperature of 12–14 °C is recommended.
Label / history
Cantina Produttori Cormons was founded in 1962 by eleven representatives of winegrowers and wine producers in northeastern Italy. They established the consortium to preserve a vision of winemaking independent of changing fashions and proposed comprehensive production rules intended to maintain wine quality. In 1969, the Conegliano-Valdobbiadene area received official recognition and DOC status.
The consortium is now a private organization representing the public interest. Its membership includes most producers in the region across all categories, and it oversees production from vineyard planting through winemaking. It also collaborates with research institutes and introduces new methods for growers and winemakers, with the stated aims of improving wine quality and complying with environmental regulations.
