About this wine
Vinification
The grapes are harvested as they begin to ripen. Only the finest bunches are selected and gently pressed to extract the juice. Each variety is vinified separately to preserve its distinctive aromas. Fermentation lasts 7–8 days at controlled temperatures.
Ageing
The wine matures in stainless-steel tanks and is bottled at the beginning of the following year.
Label / history
Satrico takes its name from the ancient city of Satricum. The earliest traces of its settlement—huts arranged around a central place of worship on a hill near the Astura River—date to the 9th century BC. Satricum was home to a temple dedicated to the goddess Mater Matuta; its remains are still visible near the Casale del Giglio vineyards in Le Ferriere, close to Latina.
The 2017 vintage received a gold medal at Selections Mondiales des Vins Canada 2018.
