About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in Valle dei Laghi, near Lake Toblino, in a vineyard with well-structured soils. They are harvested at peak ripeness.
Vinification
After gentle pressing, the grapes undergo skin maceration in small stainless-steel vats. Fermentation is completed before ageing begins.
Ageing
Part of the wine matures in barriques and the remainder in small oak barrels for 12–15 months.
Label / history
The 2008 wine received a Bronze Medal at both the Decanter World Wine Awards and the International Wine & Spirit Competition in the United Kingdom. Cavit has operated since 1950. It was established as a cooperative group by Trentino winemakers to facilitate more effective quality control. Based in northeastern Italy, it supports nearly 4,500 small wineries, whose interests it protects. Cavit produces 65% of Trentino’s wine each year, and its vineyards cover 7,000 hectares.
