About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The vineyards lie at 250 m above sea level on alkaline, stony soils.

Grapes

Sangiovese is supplemented by a small proportion of other red varieties.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested in September. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks for 15 days at temperatures not exceeding 26 °C.

Ageing

The wine matures for 12 months in barriques and tonneaux, followed by three months in bottle in the winery’s cellars.

Label / history

The family-owned Cecchi company was founded in Tuscany in 1893 by wine broker Luigi Cecchi and has been involved in Tuscan winemaking for more than a century. It is now led by brothers Cesare and Andrea Cecchi. The family has remained committed to traditional wines and does not produce Super Tuscan wines.
