About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the “Poggio al Carro” vineyard, at 350 m above sea level. The south- and southwest-facing site has mixed soils with a slight tendency toward clay.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand into small crates, then destemmed and gently pressed at the winery. Skin maceration lasts 20 days, followed by fermentation in stainless-steel tanks at 28–30 °C.
Ageing
The wine ages for 40 months in 35 hL wooden casks and matures in bottle for at least a further 12 months.
Tasting profile
Dense and rich, with notable depth and power, while remaining refined, elegant and balanced.
