Label / history
The name refers to the ruins known as the Castles of Romeo and Juliet (I Castelli Romeo e Giulietta) near Montorso Vicentino. In 1530, Luigi da Porto lived in a local villa overlooking medieval castle ruins associated with the Montecchi and Capuleti families. According to historians, they inspired his novella La Giulietta, which Shakespeare later used as the basis for his play.
