About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from estate-owned hillside vineyards at approximately 400 m above sea level in Campiano, a hamlet of Cazzano di Tramigna near Soave, within the Valpolicella DOC area.

Grapes

75% Corvina, 15% Corvinone, 5% Rondinella and 5% Molinara.

Vinification

Harvest begins in October and is carried out entirely by hand. The varieties are collected separately in crates holding no more than 20 kg. After crushing, fermentation proceeds at 25–28°C for 10–12 days. The cap is pumped over three times each day, for approximately 15–20 minutes per operation.

Ageing

The wine is kept and matured in stainless steel for approximately four months.

Tasting profile

Ruby red with violet nuances when young. The fruit-led bouquet combines ripe red cherry, sour cherry, blackberry and amarena with elegant spice, balsamic nuances and a faint herbal suggestion. Fresh and savoury, the palate is full and harmonious, with a velvety texture and a long, fruity finish. Refreshing acidity balances the alcohol, while the tannins are fine and restrained.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 12–14°C. Pair with elaborate first courses, straightforward meat dishes or game.
