About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes are grown in hilly vineyards in Tuscany with ample sunlight, conditions that support ripening.

Grapes

The blend comprises 90% Sangiovese and a combined 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand during the first two weeks of October, then destemmed and gently pressed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 25–28 °C, followed by 15–20 days of skin contact.

Ageing

The wine matures for 4–5 months in steel tanks and French oak barriques.

Vintage notes

The summer of 2019 was warm and dry, with sufficient rainfall from showers in July and August. September temperatures remained close to the seasonal average. October had little rainfall overall, despite frequent showers. The resulting wines showed pronounced aromas, concentration and a refined texture.
