About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow in Sicily between Vita, Calatafimi and Segesta, at 500–600 metres above sea level.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in the third week of August, gently destemmed and briefly macerated before gentle pressing. The must is clarified by static settling and fermented in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine is organic, and its sulfite content is 50% of the permitted maximum.
Ageing
After bottling, the wine rests in the winery’s cellars for at least three months.
Tasting profile
Delicate and vibrant, with a fresh, fruity character and rich fruit notes that retain the variety’s distinctive character.
Label / history
The name comes from the Vitese cellar, set amid the countryside around Vita. The label features a cedar, a tree typical of the area, symbolising the wine’s place of origin and its connection with the past. The wine received a gold medal from Gilbert & Gaillard in 2020.
