About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from selected plots. Green harvesting and leaf thinning limit yields to no more than 1 kg of grapes per vine.

Vinification

Merlot is harvested in late August, while Sangiovese is picked from mid-September to early October. Grapes from each plot are vinified separately. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, with frequent pump-overs and punch-downs, followed by a short maceration and malolactic fermentation.

Ageing

The wine ages for 5–6 months in small Allier oak barrels and five months in steel tanks. After blending and bottling, it matures for a further six months in bottle.

Tasting profile

Bold and concentrated, with a rich, well-balanced tannic structure and fresh, elegant acidity.
