About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
Gronda comes from the restoration of several centuries-old vineyards. The vines average 50 years of age and grow in clay soils dominated by calcareous marl. The vineyard covers around 1 ha, planted at 4500 vines per hectare, with an average yield of 35 hl. Since the first day of the Calafata cooperative, the vineyards have been farmed exclusively according to biodynamic principles, with ICEA certification, supported by other Lucchese companies that now form the LuccaBioDinamica network.
Grapes
Malvasia, Moscato Bianco, Trebbiano and Vermentino.
Vinification
The wines are made by hand, respecting tradition and terroir. The grapes are destemmed and crushed, then given a short maceration in steel vats. The juice is then transferred and ferments spontaneously.
Ageing
The wine ages in stainless steel vats for around 6 months.
