About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The wine comes from around 2 ha of restored vineyards planted on clay soils dominated by calcareous marl. The vines average 70 years of age, with a planting density of 3,500 vines per hectare and an average yield of 25 hl. Since the foundation of the cooperative, the vineyards have been farmed exclusively according to biodynamic principles and are ICEA-certified. This work has been supported by other companies from Lucca that now form the LuccaBioDinamica network.
Vinification
The grapes are destemmed and crushed, then ferment spontaneously in stainless-steel vats. Production is carried out naturally and by hand, following local tradition.
Ageing
The wine rests in stainless-steel and concrete vats for around 10 months, followed by a further four months in bottle.
Tasting profile
The nose is fragrant, while the palate is fresh and juicy.
Label / history
Majulina originated with the restoration of several centuries-old vineyards. Production is limited to around 4,500 bottles per year.
