About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the “Balt” vineyard. Like all vineyards used for the Adalia line, it is certified organic.
Vinification
The grapes are destemmed and gently pressed, then fermented with natural yeasts in stainless-steel tanks. In February, the wine is transferred to vessels holding skins left from Amarone production, prompting a second fermentation that adds concentration and strength. The method places the wine between classic Valpolicella and Amarone.
Ageing
The wine matures in oak barrels for 18 months.
Label / history
“Balt” means “forest.” The Adalia symbol is Adalia bipunctata, a small ladybird with two spots on its wings. It preys on grape aphids and is considered a friend to winegrowers.
