About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vines are cultivated biodynamically in clay soils in the "Localita Vidiana" vineyard, in the commune of Langhirano, Emilia-Romagna, at 250 metres above sea level.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand relatively early, allowing the desired sugar level to be reached while retaining natural acidity. They are pressed directly, and the must begins fermentation with natural yeasts in steel tanks without temperature control. Under the Ancestrale method, the wine is bottled midway through fermentation, which finishes naturally in the bottle. Bottling takes place in spring according to the lunar cycles, without prior filtration or fining.
Label / history
The name "Il Mio Ribelle" means "My Rebel" in Italian. It arose from the producers’ portrayal of Barbera as a rebel resisting the harmful effects of climate change and struggling to survive.
