About this wine
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, usually at the end of September. In 2021, the must underwent maceration and fermentation in stainless-steel tanks for 14 days at 28–30 °C, followed by malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matured for 14 months in new and older French oak barriques, then rested for at least another 14 months in bottle in the winery’s cellars.

Serving and pairing
When served in large glasses, the bottle may be opened only a few minutes beforehand; otherwise, the wine should breathe for about two hours.
Label / history
The name evokes Tancredi Falconeri, played by Alain Delon in Luchino Visconti’s film Il Gattopardo (The Leopard), adapted from Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa’s novel. The label depicts the Donnafugata winery at Contessa Entellina floating among clouds like a mirage.
