About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The Susumaniello grapes are grown in Salento.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested relatively late, allowing the berries to ripen further and accumulate more sugar. Fermentation lasts around 10 days in horizontal rotating tanks at a controlled temperature of 23–25 °C.

Ageing

The wine undergoes a brief period of ageing.

Tasting profile

Elegant, with a rich fruit aroma. The palate is pleasantly soft, slightly sweet and well balanced, with a smooth, rounded character.

Vintage notes

The 2021 season in Puglia was dry, and yields were 5% lower than in the previous year. Parts of Salento experienced damaging hailstorms in July and August, but the grapes nevertheless ripened on schedule. The season's red wines were noted for their versatility.
