About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from old vines growing on dolomite rock in the commune of San Michele all'Adige.
Grapes
The wine is based on an old family cuvée created by the winery's founder, Francesco Endrizzi.
Vinification
The grapes are picked by hand and carefully sorted. Alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, with frequent draining, followed by 10 days of maceration. Malolactic fermentation follows.
Ageing
After malolactic fermentation, part of the wine is aged in barriques and the rest in large wooden casks for 18 months. After bottling it matures for a further 6 months.
Tasting profile
A refined dry red.
Label / history
"Masetto" is a range of exclusive vintage wines named after the place where the winery is located. Each wine is made only from selected grapes and reflects the creativity and individual style of the Endrizzi family. The name comes from the Latin "Mansum", a building with adjoining land given to Roman legionaries as a reward.
