About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes grow in complex, rocky soils.

Vinification

The grapes undergo two selections, first in the vineyard and again at the winery. The must ferments with wild yeasts in cone-shaped stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The stainless steel contributes no additional flavours, preserving freshness, while the wild yeasts add complexity.

Ageing

The wine matures for one year in previously used barrels.

Serving and pairing

Pair with game dishes and fine cheeses.

Label / history

This was Fratini’s first wine. It takes its name from Hortense de La Gandara, also known as Hortense Serristori, an Italian writer of Spanish descent whose life and travels inspired the wine.
