About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from a small vineyard at approximately 500 metres above sea level, on medium-textured marl soils. Planting density is 5,000 vines per hectare, with yields of 4,500 kg per hectare.

Grapes

Sangiovese is supplemented by a small proportion of Merlot.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested into small crates. Fermentation under controlled temperature and maceration last 15–18 days. One third takes place in new French oak barrels, one third in two- to three-year-old barrels, and the remainder in stainless-steel tanks.

Ageing

Before release, the wine rests in bottle under strict temperature control for at least three months.

Tasting profile

Balanced and approachable, with fruity flavours and soft tannins.
