Label / history

The label bears the year 1850, when Gancia produced its first wine. Carlo Gancia founded the house that year and invented Italy’s first white vermouth. In 1870, Gancia became an exclusive supplier to the royal court of the Kingdom of Italy and gained the right to use the monarchy’s coat of arms. It was appointed a supplier to the Vatican in 1924, receiving the right to use the Pope’s coat of arms, and became an official supplier to the Swedish royal court in 1951. Its products are supplied to more than 60 countries.
