About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Nero d'Avola is grown biodynamically at Borromeo Fulgatore, 350 metres above sea level. The vines were planted in 2007 on southwest-facing slopes, in medium-textured soils that tend toward sandy. Yields do not exceed 70 quintals per hectare.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in September. Fermentation is spontaneous, in steel tanks without temperature control, followed by 10 days of skin maceration. Sulfur is added sparingly, at no more than 25 mg/l.
Ageing
The wine is aged in stainless steel vats until April.
Tasting profile
Full-bodied and fruity.
