About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The wine comes from the hills of Radda in Chianti, one of the three historic municipalities of the medieval Chianti League. Radda's colder conditions make Sangiovese cultivation particularly demanding but give the resulting Chianti Classico an elegant, fresh profile with a distinct mineral influence.

Grapes

Sangiovese.

Ageing

Matured for 12 months in 50 hl Slavonian oak casks.

Technical data

Chianti Classico DOCG. Alcohol: 14% vol. Available in 0.75 L, 1.5 L and 3 L formats.

Tasting profile

Seductive ruby red. Currant and raspberry aromas are joined by black cherry and tobacco. The palate is intense and notably fresh, finishing with an attractive savoury character.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 18°C. Suited to traditional Tuscan cooking, particularly pappardelle with wild-boar ragù.

Label / history

I Terzieri commemorates the medieval Chianti League and its three historic divisions: Radda, Castellina and Gaiole. Terziere di Tramontano represents Radda in Chianti and its high, cool expression of Sangiovese.
