About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The San Ponzio hill and vineyard lie in Monticello d’Alba, in Roero. Its predominantly sandy, calcareous soil also possesses notable structure.
Grapes
100% Nebbiolo.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in October and the bunches selected manually. Maceration lasts 10–15 days in stainless-steel vats.
Ageing
The wine matures for 18 months in a single 35-hectolitre cask.
Tasting profile
San Ponzio is distinguished by a rapid yet complex evolution in the glass.
Serving and pairing
Pair with first courses dressed with ragù, white meat, pork and soft cheeses. Ageing potential is 10 years.
