About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The wine comes from the Fossati MeGA cru in the municipality of Barolo. Production is very limited.

Grapes

100% Nebbiolo.

Vinification

The bunches are selected manually following the October harvest. Maceration lasts approximately 12 days in stainless-steel tanks.

Ageing

The wine matures for 30 months in 700-L casks that have already seen at least three previous passages.

Technical data

Production of the 2020 vintage comprised 836 numbered bottles. The wine contains sulphites.

Tasting profile

Dark and deep in expression, with a focused, central palate and smoky and red-fruit notes.

Serving and pairing

Ageing potential is 25 years. Pair with red-meat or game main courses, mushroom-based first or main courses, and mature cheeses.

Vintage notes

The first release was the 2015 vintage. Fossati was not produced in 2019.
