About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from the "Vallone" vineyard in Bolgheri, on low hills in the coastal area near the Tyrrhenian Sea. The coastal soils are clay with a moderate limestone content. They retain moisture well, which helps the grapes keep their freshness and develop a rounded character.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness. After pressing, the must is chilled for natural filtration, then racked and fermented with selected yeasts at a controlled temperature.

Ageing

The wine matures in two stages: 4 months in steel tanks, then 3 months in bottle. This brings it into balance while preserving its natural freshness. There is no barrel ageing.

Tasting profile

Charming, light and fresh, with a rounded character.

Serving and pairing

Suited to lighter hot dishes.

Vintage notes

The 2024 vintage is expected to keep until 2029.

Label / history

The "Borgeri" range is a pure, straightforward expression of Bolgheri's terroir. The name is an old spelling of Bolgheri, shown on a map drawn by Leonardo da Vinci during an expedition in 1453. The label carries Giorgio Meletti Cavallari's fingerprint as a mark of quality.
