About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Syrah and Merlot come from the 8 ha "Vallone" vineyard, where the white varieties Vermentino and Viognier are also grown.
Vinification
The grapes are gently pressed at a low temperature to preserve their natural aromas. After skin maceration and low-temperature settling for natural filtration, selected wine yeasts are added to the must. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks to retain the wine's natural flavours.
Ageing
The wine spends 4 months on fine lees in stainless steel, then a further 3 months in a cool cellar after bottling, which helps balance its different notes. It can be kept for at least 3 years; the 2025 vintage is expected to develop well through 2031.

Label / history
"Borgeri" Rosato began as an experiment to create a wine for any occasion. The Borgeri range gives a clear, approachable expression of the Bolgheri terroir. The name is an old spelling of Bolgheri, shown on a geographical map attributed in the text to Leonardo da Vinci, drawn during one of his expeditions in 1453. Giorgio Meletti Cavallari's fingerprint on the label serves as a personal "mark of quality" from the winemaker.
