About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

One third of the fruit comes from hillside vineyards in the Girlan cru. These parcels lie at 450–500 m and contain vines between 10 and 15 years old. The remaining two thirds are grown near Cortaccia in Bassa Atesina. Mineral-rich gravel and clay soils shape the wine's character.

Grapes

Gewürztraminer.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand and carried in small containers to protect them from excessive pressure. Whole bunches are pressed gently, after which the must is clarified by natural sedimentation. Fermentation proceeds in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation is avoided.

Ageing

The wine remains on its lees in stainless steel for eight months.

Technical data

Vintage 2023. Alto Adige DOC. Yield: 46 hl/ha. Alcohol: 14.5% vol. Total acidity: 5.25 g/L. Residual sugar: 3.5 g/L. Ageing potential: 8 years.

Tasting profile

An intense, aromatic bouquet with rose petal, lychee and exotic-fruit nuances leads to a soft, full-bodied palate.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 10–12 °C. Its aromatic intensity and ample texture suit shellfish, flavourful cheeses, strudel and other desserts. It also pairs with spicy food and Asian-inspired sweet-and-sour dishes.
