About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

Lagrein is grown on the eastern side of Bassa Atesina at 280–300 m above sea level. The area’s sandy, warm and deep soils suit this late-ripening local variety. Strong temperature fluctuations help the grapes develop an intense yet delicate aromatic profile.

Grapes

Lagrein.

Vinification

The grapes are picked by hand and transported in small containers to protect them from excessive pressure. After destemming, alcoholic fermentation proceeds at a controlled temperature in stainless-steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation.

Ageing

The wine matures for 6 months in large wooden barrels and concrete vats.

Technical data

The 2025 vintage is classified as Alto Adige DOC. Yield is 70 hl/ha. Alcohol is 13% vol., total acidity 5.37 g/L and residual sugar 0.8 g/L. Ageing potential is 2–3 years.

Tasting profile

A fine, pleasant bouquet recalls violets, complemented by blackberry aromas. The palate is full and velvety, with supple tannins and a lightly bitter finish. The wine has the structure to keep well.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 16–18 °C. Pair with grilled or roasted meats, game and spicy cheeses.
