About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from two areas: hillside vineyards in Oltradige at approximately 400 m and vineyards on the sandy, loamy soils of Bassa Atesina at 280–350 m.

Grapes

The 2023 blend comprises 50% Lagrein and 50% Merlot.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand into small containers to protect them from excessive pressure. After destemming, the must ferments for 12–15 days in stainless-steel tanks.

Ageing

Malolactic fermentation and 18 months of maturation take place in large wooden barrels and barriques. The components are assembled shortly before bottling, followed by three months of bottle maturation before release.

Technical data

Vintage 2023. Alto Adige DOC. Yield: 56 hl/ha. Alcohol: 14.0% vol. Total acidity: 5.62 g/L. Residual sugar: 0.4 g/L. Ageing potential: 8 years.
