About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
Moscato Rosa grows in well-aired hillside vineyards at Girlan, between 400 and 500 m. The mineral-rich soils derive from Ice Age sedimentation.
Grapes
Moscato Rosa.
Vinification
The grapes are picked by hand at the end of October and placed in small crates. They remain there to dry through appassimento, concentrating their natural sugars. In mid-January, after two weeks of skin maceration, the grapes are pressed. Fermentation proceeds very slowly and stops spontaneously under the influence of the high sugar concentration.
Ageing
Ten months in barriques followed by six months in bottle.
