About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from Suvereto in the province of Livorno, Tuscany, at 100 m above sea level. The soils consist of clay, sand and silt. Planting density is 6,000 vines per hectare, with spur-pruned cordon training.
Grapes
Aleatico.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested late and left to dry naturally on the vines. The resulting must undergoes alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine matures for 6 months in stainless steel, followed by at least 3 months in bottle before release.
Tasting profile
Bright ruby in colour. The floral and fruit-led bouquet combines violet with raspberry, sour cherry and plum. The palate has good weight, balancing freshness with softness, and finishes with long aromatic persistence.
Serving and pairing
Suitable for dry pastries in general and especially dark chocolate, whether served on its own or used in desserts.
Label / history
The first vintage was produced in 2001.
