About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from Suvereto in the province of Livorno, Tuscany, at 100 m above sea level. The soils consist of clay, stone and silt. Planting density is 6,000 vines per hectare, with spur-pruned cordon training.
Grapes
Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Blend percentages are not specified.
Vinification
Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation is completed in the same vessels.
Ageing
The wine matures for 12 months in third- and fourth-use barriques, followed by at least 3 months in bottle before release.
Tasting profile
Ruby red with good colour intensity. The bouquet is pleasantly fruit-driven, showing red berries with subtle spicy accents. The palate is well structured, lively and harmonious, with soft tannins and good flavour persistence.
Serving and pairing
Recommended with assorted cured meats, pasta and other first courses, as well as white and red meats.
