About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The estate’s white-grape vineyards, including its Weissburgunder plantings, surround the winery and cellars on Rungg hill at 500 m above sea level. Niedrist replaced the traditional Pergola training system with the more labour-intensive Guyot system to reduce yields and improve grape quality.

Vinification

Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks, without malolactic fermentation or contact with wood.

Ageing

The wine matures in stainless-steel tanks.

Tasting profile

Clean and distinctly mineral.

Label / history

The Niedrist winery was officially established in 1870. Ignaz Niedrist inherited the family vineyards and began bottling and selling the wines in 1989. The estate has 8 ha of vineyards and produces 25,000–30,000 bottles annually.
