About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from selected vines in Controguerra that are around 20 years old. The area lies in northern Abruzzo between the Adriatic Sea and the Apennines and has favourable climatic and natural conditions. The estate’s vineyards have soils of clay, sand and siliceous rock.
Grapes
Selected Trebbiano and Verdicchio grapes are used.
Vinification
The first fermentation takes place under temperature control in stainless-steel autoclaves. A slow second fermentation follows in the bottle. The bottles are then riddled by hand using the traditional remuage method and disgorged.
Ageing
The wine matures on its lees for 30–36 months in cellars kept at approximately 11–12 °C.
