About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the Pieluni vineyard on the hillsides of Controguerra, at 285 m above sea level. The site has southern exposure and mixed soils containing small amounts of sand and alluvial material.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in late October, then destemmed and gently crushed. Fermentation and skin maceration take place in small steel tanks at 29–30 °C for 25–30 days, followed by malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matures for two years in oak barrels and then for a further 14–15 months in bottle.
Tasting profile
The aroma is complex. The palate is rich and balanced.
