About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from several plots in Radda and Gaiole-in-Chianti. The plots share a similar altitude and soil composition, conditions well suited to Sangiovese.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand from the first days of September. Oenologist Angela Fronti processes the bunches using large wood particles to help preserve acidity. Fermentation with natural yeasts lasts 15–20 days in concrete and stainless-steel tanks, at a maximum temperature of 28 °C. Maceration continues for 3–8 weeks.

Ageing

The wine ages for 12 months in large Slavonian oak casks of 10, 20 and 40 hectolitres.

Tasting profile

Juicy and bold, with abundant sweet red cherry, rose petal, spice and orange zest. The 2022 vintage has an open, easygoing character and retains good acidity.

Serving and pairing

Allow the wine to breathe for one hour before serving.
