About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The vineyards lie in the Piccole Dolomiti above the historic trading town of Ala, in southern Trentino near the Veneto border. They occupy southwest-facing slopes at 600–860 metres, with gradients reaching 40%. The light, loose soils consist of dolomitic gravel derived from limestone dolomite. Abundant sunlight, high elevation and clear mountain air shape the growing environment.

Grapes

Pinot Nero. Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested entirely by hand and fully destemmed. Fermentation takes place in concrete tanks with pump-overs.

Ageing

The wine matures in barriques and concrete tanks, followed by maturation in bottle.

Tasting profile

Deep, concentrated ruby-garnet in colour. The layered aroma combines forest berries, strawberry and red currant with delicate underbrush nuances. The palate is crisp and clearly defined, with balanced acidity.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 14–16 °C with red meat, lamb, wildfowl or game.
