About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit is grown around Mount Taburno in Campania, southern Italy, in a mountainous landscape. The vines grow in volcanic soils at 300–400 metres above sea level. The late-ripening fruit benefits from a long growing season with hot days and moderately cool nights.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in late October. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks for 20–25 days at 27 °C, with regular punching down of the cap.
Ageing
The wine matures for 18 months in 25 hL French barrels, followed by 6–12 months in bottle.
