About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow in vineyards in Mezzane di Sotto, Valpantena and Valle d’Illasi, at elevations above 200 metres. The soils are clay-limestone, and the vines average 20 years of age.

The blend also includes Corvinone.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand into small 4–5 kg crates and carefully sorted at the winery. They undergo appassimento in ventilated cellars for 90–120 days. After destemming in January, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 18–24 °C and continues until the desired residual sugar level is reached.
Ageing
The wine matures for 36 months in 500-litre French oak barrels, followed by 12 months in bottle.
