About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit is sourced from all of the estate’s vineyards.

Vinification

The Sangiovese was harvested early, by hand, in the final week of August. At the cellar, the grapes were pressed and destemmed, then macerated overnight. The juice was separated from the skins the following day.

Ageing

The wine rested for 10–12 months in stainless-steel tanks.

Tasting profile

Refined and energetic, it has more of the character and flavour of a lightly extracted red wine than a conventional rosé.

Label / history

Podere le Ripi calls the wine “naked Sangiovese.” Its label depicts a flying whale representing Sangiovese: generous and full of Mediterranean aromas and sunshine, yet capable of unexpected lightness. Production of the 2022 vintage totalled 6,600 bottles.
