About this wine
Grapes
Cabernet Sauvignon with a small proportion of Merlot.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and dried for one month. Fermentation on the skins lasts several weeks.
Ageing
The wine matures for 12 months in new barriques. After the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are blended, it rests for a further few months in stainless-steel tanks.
Tasting profile
The aroma is intense and complex, with rich notes of blackcurrant and spice. The palate is smooth.
Label / history
The name comes from the refola, a wind blowing from Lake Garda that helps to dry the grapes. Le Vigne di San Pietro was the first winery in the region to use the passito method for a Cabernet Sauvignon wine.
