About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vines grow in Valle d'Aosta, in light, sandy soils on west-facing vineyards at 650 m above sea level. Vine age ranges from 20 to 70 years.
Grapes
The blend is Fumin 30%, Petit Rouge 30%, Barbera 30% and Mayolet 10%.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in late October. After pressing, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at 28 °C, followed by 10–12 days of maceration with daily pumping over.
Ageing
The wine ages for 8 months in stainless steel tanks.
Label / history
The wine is called "Vin de la Sabla". It was first released in 1971.
