About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vines grow in Calabria’s Mediterranean climate, influenced by sea air and hot sun.
Grapes
The blend comprises 60% Gaglioppo and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. Librandi arrived at these proportions after several years of experimentation.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested during the first ten days of October. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel vats, with 15 days of maceration.
Ageing
The wine matures for 12 months in Allier oak barriques, followed by six months in bottle.
Label / history
Gravello was first released in the late 1980s.
