About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Merlot fruit grows on sunny hillsides in Collio, Friuli.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and gently pressed. Temperature-controlled fermentation takes place on the skins for 18 days.
Ageing
Seventy per cent of the wine matures in stainless-steel tanks and 30% in French oak barrels. The two portions are then blended and bottled, followed by a fairly long period of bottle ageing before release.
Tasting profile
Aromatic, refined and well balanced, with a soft, rich palate and an elegant bouquet led by berry and other fruit notes. The wine is full of character.
Serving and pairing
Pairs well with meat dishes, game, stews and pasta.
