About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
Traminer requires sunny, hilly sites to ripen fully. The winery’s vineyard practices include short vine pruning, organic methods, high-density planting, the integration of native plants and low yields.
Vinification
The grapes are hand-picked into small boxes and undergo eight hours of cold maceration in a vertical press. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 15 °C.
Ageing
After fermentation, the wine remains in the same stainless-steel tanks for five months.
Label / history
The Livon family established the winery in the early 1960s, when Dorino Livon purchased its first vineyards in the hills of Collio. His sons Valneo and Tonino joined the business in the mid-1980s. The family subsequently reorganised its vineyards and built three large cellars.
